Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan is sponsoring The Backpack Program at Hope of Detroit Academy. This weekend program is called The Backpack Program. Hope of Detroit will be receiving plastic grocery sacks with enough food in each bag to support one child for one weekend. Gleaners Community Food Bank will be delivering enough bags to make sure that children can get a bag to take home with them weekly each Friday!
Each sack consists of the following:
2- 16 oz protein options. I.E. Beef Stew, Beef Ravioli , etc…
2- 8 oz shelf stables milks
1- 16 oz can of fruit
1- 16 oz can of vegetable
1- box of grain, cereal or plain crackers
