Dress Code 

School Dress Code for Girls:

Uniforms must be worn at all times. Girls may choose: navy blue jumper and white/blue blouse; navy blue skirt with a white blouse and navy blue vest; or navy blue skirt with a white/blue blouse and navy blue vest. 

 

The following are not permitted:

  • Skirts more than two (2) inches above the knee
  • Blue jeans or velvet slacks
  • Exotic jewelry, dangling earrings or bulky bracelets
  • Exotic hairstyles
  • Exotic make-up
  • Tennis shoes or plastic heels and soles
  • While hairstyles are a personal choice, extreme hairstyles are not permitted.

 

 

 

School Dress Code -- Boys

Boys must wear navy blue dress pants along with a belt or slacks and a light blue/white bottom down dress shirt with a navy blue tie.  Black dress shoes.  Hair must be neatly cut and combed. This is for all boys in all grades.

 

The following are not permitted:

  • Blue jeans or Levi’s
  • Unusual or distracting hairstyles
  • Radical or distracting clothing, hairstyles or jewelry
  • Heavy chains, bracelets or earring(s)
  • Tennis shoes or plastic heels and soles

 

 

Gym Day Dress Code

In winter, children may wear a buttom down sweater which matches the school colors (blue). Gym dress code for both boys and girls is: tee shirt with Hope of Detroit Academy School name and emblem. No other top will be allowed. Tennis shoes and socks must be worn. Clean jeans may be worn -- no torn, patched, or written-on pants are permitted. Shorts may be worn during warm weather at the discretion of the school leader. All uniforms must be clean and wrinkle free. This is the parent’s responsibility and parents will be notified when clothing is worn dirty or extremely wrinkled.
