Alberta Galarza, grade 1
Mrs. Galarza was born in Mexico and came to the United States when she was seven years old. She graduated from Holy Redeemer High School (a parochial school in Southwest Detroit) in 2001. That same year, she married her Husband Hector. In 2010, her husband became the pastor at her Church. So aside from teaching, she is very involved at her Church and her community.
She began working at Hope of Detroit Academy since August of 2004. She graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and is currently working on her Master’s in Bilingual Education. Her favorite thing to do with the children is reading stories and solving Mathematical problems. Although being an educator is challenging at times, she loves to make a difference in a child’s life!
