In first grade students are eager to learn to read. It is my goal in first grade to help students become strategic readers, independent writers, good citizens, and curious about nature and the world.

En primer grado los estudiantes tienen deceo de aprender a leer.  Mi meta en primer grado es de ayudar a que mis estudiantes sean lectores estrategicos, escritores independientes, buenos ciudadanos, y curiosos de la naturalesa y del mundo.

Math: We are learning about number patterns; counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's starting at any number.
Science: We are learning about the season and temperature changes.
Social Studies: We are creating a classroom map, school map, and neighborhood map.
Reading:  We are reading, spelling and writing words with long i (_ike, _ine, _ide), long u (_use, _une, _ute).
Writing: We are writing an informational piece on our house.
