James Montlouis, grade 5
My name is Mr. Montlouis and I would like to welcome you and your child to fifth grade. I am excited to begin my third year of teaching here at Hope of Detroit Academy. I have previously taught grades two through four at both private and public schools and worked as a paraprofessional.
I was born in Detroit Michigan but have lived in different parts of the United States. I received my degree in Elementary Educationfrom Salt Lake City, Utah and also have a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Austin Texas. I also attended Art School at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was involved in professional photography in Detroit and New York City. In addition to teaching, I also enjoy photographing, traveling, visiting museums and galleries, and spending time in nature. I’m a big animal and plant lover too.
